Glass master “Cavaliere” Luigi Voltolina created his artistic workshop „Murrina“ in 1970 in Murano, the island of artistic glass well known all over the world. Over the decades the laboratory changed its name: „Corte Murrina“ and the art of glass processing is passed to his son Nicola as well as to his grandchildren Rebecca and Filippo, who does not only inherit the laboratory, but also the passion for glass craftmanship and all the mastery of the “Cavaliere” Luigi Voltolina. Corte Murrina, strong in the Venetian technique millefiori murrina (“thousand flowers”) has a broad success both nationally and internationally, so much that in 1985 the Voltolina family decides to approach a complete internal reorganization of the laboratory. The production of new lines of fashion jewelry, watches and objects in Murano glass begins also thanks to the collaboration with young and innovative designers.
